The Plank

Yesterday evening I watched The Plank, again! I still find it as funny as I did the first time, many years ago.

I think The Plank would serve very well as a masterclass in visual comedy for today's crop of comedians and comedy actors.

There's at least two versions of The Plank. One with Eric Sykes (who I think wrote the script for this comedy) and Arthur Lowe. The other one is with Eric Sykes and Tommy Cooper.

The version I am familiar with is with Tommy Cooper and Eric Sykes, written and directed by Eric Sykes.

spuds, he did indeed write that script along with lots of other equally entertaining material. I only found this out when I read his autobiography!

The Plank is a wonderful expression of visual comedy but i still think that the Music Box,Laurel and Hardy, has the edge.Eric Sykes is not around so much these days but i think he should be recognised and acknowledged as one of the true great comedic artists.

Does he have a 'gong'.??

Eddie Izzard makes me laugh...all clean jokes...Eric Sykes is understated (his nature)...but very plausable...he is GOOD.

"If anyone does not find The Plank amusing they have no sense of humor."

There speaks someone who doesn't understand the first rule of comedy:-

Not everyone finds the same things funny.
