Who stays up late at night?

Browsing the forum areas late at night, I'm aware that most people seem to have gone to bed, or perhaps they're just doing something else at that time.

In years gone by we had what - for want of a better description - I used to refer to as 'the night crew'. They were the regulars who took part in discussions that often went on into the early hours. We had some interesting debates at night, and whether it was due to the lateness of the hour, or perhaps a nightcap or two, they were mostly good-natured and friendly.

I tend to be here until midnight most evenings - sometimes a little later - because some of the work I do involves on-line collaboration across times zones. I just wondered if anyone keeps me company without my knowing?

Hi Just returned from a few days away showing a Thia friend a little of the UK. I still tend to live like I'm back in Thailand so I'm seldom in bed before 3am. Some nights I used to sit here almost talking to myself as everyone seemed to have gone to bed or maybe my posts were so boring that no one responded.

You've always got company in the small hours; people from all over the world visit the site during our night, although they may not be registered to post.

Well that is refreshing to know. I often visit the site when I'm overseas myself just to see something written in English if for no other reason. By the way her indoors is having a great time on her far east tour and the iPad is working great for her.

FE - on occasions, I stay up all night, and find the tranquility of night time easier on the mind. The silence is reassuringly a welcome buddy.

On a point of interest (me not being a gamer)does most of these events take place with overseas competitors, from perhaps other time zones like the USA?.

The reason why I ask, is because if gaming is mentioned, it seems to be a long session, usually drawn out over late hours (in UK) or long periods, possibly by people unemployed or perhaps disabled?.

Bit like the old days of Citizen Band radio?.

Not sure if this is the place to comment, but topic was alluded to earlier in this thread; as an 'old timer' here (in terms of time registered on these forums not age, albeit with a slight name change!), can I just comment that in my opinion, this site is most brilliantly moderated by (China)FE.

Apart from all the obvious attributes PCadvisor has, the style of forum moderating adds one other attribute lacking in so many other forums ... class big style.

Thank you.

And thank you. Good to see an old familiar name - albeit with a slight change.

The cheque's in the post.
