We didn't have snow in October when I was young. We were too poor.

I just wish some one would make their mind up about what it is going to do http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16075935 . Weather forecasters are more like fortune tellers, come out with enough predictions and one of them should be nearly right.
Forecast for my area yesterday was bright sunshine and Temps in the 20's, reality, overcast and cold.
Best way to find out what the weather is going to do is look out of your window.

I had snow yeaterday, well I though it was until I realised it was upstairs flicking their fag ash through their Balcony Deck. This will be stopping, of course.

The only real prediction is...
In winter, at night, it will be dark...

I repositioned...again, ten tomato plants yesterday. They don't know if they are coming or going, but the outlook is good. There is going to be a big rise in temperatue uk-wide.Then again, sunshine was forecast today, but turned out overcast and heavy rain. The tomatoes have probably seen it all before.
