Football Prices and Pies

How do Arsenal get away with charging £4 for a pie? Is it better quality than those sold in other stadia? Is there perhaps, some meat in it? Looking at the list of prices to attend a football match these days I am glad I passed my season ticket on to my son, way back in 1980... By the way I can remember when members of Her Majesty's forces could get half price admission to matches. That was during and for a short period after WW2 of course, I used to wear my army cadet uniform (Liverpool Scottish) uniform and get in for 10 old pence.

I dread to ask how much they charge for fish and chips FE. I get a portion of fish and chips at my local chippy for £4.10p. It is delicious and I always get two portions out of it. There's enough chips left over to put in the oven for dishing out next day, with a bit of corned beef or an egg). So I get what I call a fair deal. I don't do it too often as I think it is not all that healthy as a meal. But I certainly get my moneys' worth.

I will guess that fish and chips at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium will be in the region of £10.00?

Bingalau - a lot of the local fish 'n' chip shops in the Glasgow area are closed at the moment. It's the school holidays. Their 'captive customers' are nowhere to be seen. Same goes for all of the other fast food operators. How do those children survive without a visit to the chippy, all summer long?

If it's 4 quid for a pie, what's the price for the admission? Are Arsenal fans sworn to secrecy? It's 40 pounds for a Celtic v Rangers game - the pies might be cheaper and tastier! (I have not tried them)

AitchBEE. If you go to the BBC main page you will find a link to all the football clubs and their prices, pies and cups of tea included.

I've not figured out yet how to do a link on this new system. But here is the link anyway... Hope it comes through.

The cheapest football pie in 'all of the land'.....is still a rip-off! The sale of pies could pay for the policing!

Arsenal..eh,,at least the food appears to be a 'winner'.!! Bingalau, Those seem reasonable prices, last match i went to was in the 70's when the idiots ruled the terrace's hence i watched MoD on tv. May have changed since but now i disagree with the exorbitant wages they get.

The yearly BBC licence fee looks cheap. Taking in a football match with a fish supper and a couple of pies and bus fare home is not for me...well done beeb for highlighting the crazy costs some people will pay.An eye-opener!
