Amazon Marketplace

Doing a bit of shopping yesterday and noticed that Lloyds Pharmacy was operating in Amazon Marketplace.

No reason why they shouldn't, of course, just seeing it as a sign of Amazon's success that a main high street retailer with their own well developed website obviously sees business benefits here.

There are probably others, but this is the first I've come across.

A matter of concern now must be that Amazon is so successful that it must be ripe for a takeover from some financial conglomerate wanting to make a quick buck

Now that Microsoft has absorbed Skype perhaps they would be obvious buyers of Amazon...

The sort of people to whom your link refers, are not really the sort of people I was referring to. They include the founder and some corporate investors.

I was referring more to the private equity companies who go in, asset strip and then back out

The current market value of Amazon is $96bn, it would take a very wealthy company to take it over. Whilst Microsoft does have $99bn of listed assets, and a market value of $224bn, I'm not sure Amazon would be someone they'd be looking to buy.
