It's not a forgone conclusion, it will only happen if they do not raise the money for their bridging loan by next march.

So if HMV fail to pay back loans Lloyds & RBS take a 5% stake in the company.

Not sure how Sky News reckon that means the company now belongs to the Tax Payer...

Given the tax payer owns a high proportion of the shareholding of both banks, SKY have then used that to make the eye catching headline. Had the headline been 'HMV in convertible loan agreement with bankers' would anyone have noticed?
