I don`t think that many of us would have wished for things to turn out like this. Still I suppose it is better than having a completely empty factory rusting away to nothing. I wonder what the future hold for this company.

The car has had a bit of a panning by motoring critics in the press regarding build quality and comparisons to the current competition from Ford, Vauxhall and VW.

The Chinese owners are probably getting massive incentives from the UK to assemble the car here. Once the financial assistance stops, they will in all probability move the assembly back to China on a cost basis and close the Longbridge plant.
