Apostrophe' The main reason for the use of this much maligned tool stems from when printers used lead type picked from fonts and there was a shortage of vowels- thus to spread the 'load' some were omitted.
Thus can't don't instead of can not and do not.
Now we are electronic and we make them to order so to speak the 'Apostrophe' should be redundant in this context.
After all it takes as long to type don't as do not, does it not?
