An online store with customizable products

I would like to have an online store that allows the user to choose selections that appear to the left in an interactive experience.

Here is a site that is similar to what we're aiming for. http://www.laudividni.com/design/comodo/

We like the flow of this store with the larger image scrolling with you as you make your selections and we like that you can see all of the options to the right instead of the leathers being in a scroll bar like the first site: http://www.maydesigns.com/shop/books/create/swan-lake-orchid/

What is the best way to achieve this interactive shopping experience?
