Clean up Google Search

About 12 years ago I designed (as an learning experiment)a website for our Probus Club. Since then I have changed ISP on several occasions ( Geocity stopped allowing free hosting)and as a result there are a number of places where a Google search brings up a number of search finds which are out of date. Can anyone tell me how to clean up these search pages so that they only relect on the current web page. Search (Stokesley Probus) and you see what I mean.
Any help to corrct this problem greatfully received.

Thankyou very much for your comprehensive answer to my question. As I am going away from home for a few days I will print your answer and study it more fully. However I get the feeling that the answer to part of my problem will be a redesign of the website. Particularly the early pages. I wish that I could just ring up someone and get the offending google entries removed but that appears to be impossible. At least to my very basic knowledge.
Once again thanks for you help.
