Floor plan drawing software

I need to draw a scale floor plan view of our village hall and it must also go on our website as well as being used for discussions (printing, etc.). Does anyone know of a suitable (open source) software? We have tried Word but too fiddly.

Suggestions appreciated.

I know you said open source but you mentioned Word - do you have a version of MS-Office with Visio? If so, that will do the job nicely (just finished a house extension and we did all our floor plans and furniture layoyts in it)
