Server maintenance - advance warning

Work will be carried out on our server early tomorrow (Thursday 12th June), and it's possible that the forum may go offline at some point between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.
Please bear with us if this happens - we'll get things back to normal as soon as possible. If there is an outage it will help enormously if you don't all hit the server at the same time to tell us - we'll know about it anyway.

I think this is probably the most appropriate place to post this..... You are in the process of finalising the setup for this new forum..... Whilst your going to all the trouble, why not create a whole new blank forum, but obviously not link it, then the next time you choose to add a new forum it will already be in place. You'll just have to activate the links & make them visible ETC!!!! Just a thought.

in fact we do that already. The site is configured so that we can add (and remove) forums fairly quickly when we need to, so that's not a problem.

At the moment we're watching this forum to see how it goes; you'll appreciate that the main consideration from our point of view is the effective use of resources - of which I'm a part. It takes time to watch the forums, and adding new ones means more work.

I think we'll be fine with WebDesign; we have one or two ideas up our sleeves, so keep visiting to see how we develop things over the coming weeks.
