Modem router recommendations adsl2+

I'm thinking of upgrading our quite old belkin n150 type modem router as more and More smart phones and tablets are appearing In our household and I'd like to connect a wireless Ethernet adaptor to the tv and either a ps3 or maybe the ps4 when it comes out. At the moment were on an upto 20mbps broadband service and it won't be until the next English Olympics that BT Infinity will arrive in our area,... So with that in mind is it worth future proofing with 802.11ac? Although if we decide to spend more, could getvirgin media? I just want improved coverage, as the belkin is reasonably good except with the ps3, so I'm thinking Of the belkin n600db but have seen their reputation isn't that great, I've never had any real Problems except with the ps3.
