Bluetooth and smart tv

I have a laptop with Bluetooth enabled and I would like to use the keyboard to type into the web address bar on my TV. I've been told all I need is Bluetooth dongle plugged into my TV. I've also been told that this won't work and I need a Bluetooth keyboard. Who is right?

NONE. Some TV's have built in Bluetooth hence you can just pair a stand alone keyboard to the TV. If no built in BT on your TV then no. Just pushing a BT dongle into one of the USB sockets will not work as the dongle requires drivers which the TV will not provide.

A laptop keyboard will not function with your TV.
