DV video download

I have a Sony DCR-PC9E DV camera recorder and I wish to download videos to my laptop using the IEEE1394 interface. However my laptop has no IEEE1394 input or the capability to add an interface card. How can I download the videos?

You will need something like this Ebay. Which I am surprised your camera did not come with.

Those cables don't work.

What you need is something like this Click here if you can find one, the one above is second hand and in the USA.

Search the Digital Home Advice forum, in the menu above, there are at least two threads about those type of purchased cables and neither of them worked.

If you have a DVD recorder, plug the camera onto it and record to a disc. Put the disc in your PC and drag and drop or copy and paste to wherever you want them.
