I tried to order ink on a web sales site via my tablet 3 times- each attempt was baulked at the payment page with browser padlock problem.

Tried this time on normal computer and the tgransaction went thruogh 1st time.

I could be totally wrong, but were you trying to order from an insecure wifi spot or your tablet as been left 'open'?.

The problem may lie with the way that your tablet works with https sites and their security in a mobile version.
