Mouse on laptop

I have altered the settings on my laptop and now the mouse below the keyboard does not work! How do I resolve this problem?

Some hints here. If a HP machine there should be a a slight dimple on the touchpad near top left of the pad. Double tap that until you see the orange light go off. That enables it. The reverse is true. If still having problems connect a usb mouse and do a search for your particular model.

Do you mean the touchpad? You could try it started in Safe Mode Tapping F8 or F5 as its starting up
