microsoft visual c ++ entries

i have about 22 different visual c ++ entries in my add/remove. some have the office logo on them , i also have multiple netframe work and msxml entries. is it safe to remove them all and then let windows updates give me the latest versions of everything or could i be about to do something stupid !
