Changes to BIOS Time Won't Save

When I change the time in the BIOS on my Acer Aspire One ZG5, it won't stay changed. I moved to the US, but my laptop seems determined to stay resolutely on British time. I exit and save changes etc. Any ideas?

Could be that your CMOS battery is dying.

I shall test that theory. Thanks.

You will have to change the time and setting in windows from UK to USofA.

Then change the time in the bios. Depending on which version of windows you use, when you connect to the internet it will have been reseting to UK time.

The time is already changed in the operating system. To explain I am attempting to install Linux and the BIOS reverts to UK time when the HD is formatted.
