Adding the avast! online security plugin

Hello Friends, I have avast! Free Antivirus installed on my laptop. There is a message which keeps popping up reading "Complete your install by adding the avast! Online Security plugin for Google Chrome. INSTALL NOW". I really dont know what action to take. The reason why I'm on avast! Free is that I have no money to spend on anti-virus protection. If I install the plugin as per the pop-up will I later be required to pay for subscription? Please help me to decide what to do. Thanks.

No you will not, all the plugin does is tell you if you are visiting a dodgy site. You will still get nagged to upgrade to the paid version of Avast whether you get the plugin or not.

Kronos the First! Thanks. Appreciated. One more thing: I believe the upgrades will require payment but the updates will not. Please confirm. Thanks.
