Connect an iPad to a home network printer

I have a W7 PC with a printer cable connected to it. Is it possible to print from an iPad to that printer via the wifi router?

You probably cannot print to it if it is connected by USB but details of the printer are required to see if it supports iPad printing.

Woolwell, the printer is an Epson XP-202 which does have a wifi capability (which I don't use at present as it's only 3 feet from the PC). The iPad is happily wifi connected to the router so perhaps I can route any printing through the PC as I do with my old netbook?

You cannot connect through the PC. They way to do it is to use the wifi connection for the printer and then use AirPrint or Epson Connect.
