Connecting Canon Printer to Ipad

Tomorrow I am due to help a friend connect a Canon MG5350 (which is airprint enabled)for use with an Ipad. All the Canon instructions seem to assume that you will initially be connecting the printer using a computer to do so. However, my friend only has an Ipad and no computer. Is it possible to connect the printer to his Wi-Fi router directly from the printer's control panel (and if so, how) or should I take a laptop with me?

You will need to go to Canon's support site and download the manual. From that it should tell you how to connect the printer to the router using the printer's led panel. Have a look at the FAQs too.

It may be advisable to take a laptop with you.
