Disk cloning and access to free space

Windows XP.I cloned my 40Gb HDD to 80Gb HDD using Macrium Free which has worked fine BUT I can only access the first 40Gb, the other 40Gb is described as 'free space'. I can only access the 40Gb 'free space' by partitioning which I don't want. How can I access the 'free space without partitioning?

As per one of the programs mentioned in northumbria61's link. I use free program http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm to extend the C: to use all the drive. After giving it the instructions, It closes pc down, restarts pc and does it's resizing before booting back into Windows.

Thanks to you both. Partition-tool worked perfectly after giving me 'Mounting volume has failed' message which proved to be false.
