Hi, I have just replaced the ram in an old E System laptop and the crucial scanner says that there are two slots for memory but when i take the small cover off at the back of the laptop there is only one slot for the ram. Is there another slot elsewhere on these laptops please?

Have you had a really close look, sometimes the second slot appears to be hidden, until you lift the angle of the RAM in the first slot to show a second slot.

Or it may be under the keyboard.

Hi, Thank you for that. However, I have looked and cannot see/find any points which would release the keyboard.

If it helps, on the rear it says 'E System' G322 Series?

Ah, I see that this laptop is actually a rebranded ecs elitegroup g322 laptop and that this problem has come up before for various people and the fact that it wont 'see' 1gb of ram and the answer seems to be to flash the bios but I am not comfortable with doing this as there doesn't seem to be a reliable up to date site available.

I still cant find anywhere that suggest that there is another slot somewhere though?

It can bee hidden under the one you can see, is there a couple of clips either side of the RAM module. Or even remove the module you can see and have a look that way.

Hmm, I do not think it has more than one module as I could see no point in sticking another space elsewhere to put another module.

It is not unknown for crucial to get it wrong.

According to this there is only one Dimm slot.
