Hi, my Vista laptop just froze so i restarted and got the dreaded 'Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem:' and then tells me to insert my Vista disc and chose language and then 'repair'.

Please can i confirm that this will not do a fresh install and my data should be saved?

If you select Repair, there should be no effect on your documents.
