pc slow to boot

hi my pc is very slow when i boot up or close down have run malwarebyte and microsoft security. machine clean have plenty of hard drive space on my 2 partitions win 7 and windows xp c been running well until yesterday can you advise me thank you kirriejim

There were some windows updates this week could it be trying to install them at start up.

Check in device manager I used to have an unsigned driver that made my computer take about 4 minutes to boot.

Go to Services and disable automatic updates and stop it from running.

Scroll down even further to Windows Defender and do the same with that.Then see if it starts any quicker.

If nothing helps maybe try a system restore to when it was working ok.
