netgear router keeps dropping the connection

Hi my netgear router keeps dropping the connection to my I S P then is says Peer not responding Failed to authenticate ourselves to peer after some time it connects my I S P say there is nothing wrong at there end so they the connection down but still with no look. router is a netgear NDG1000

If ISP says not their end (but they always say that!), then the problem is line or router. Any noises on the phone? Have you tried changing the filter(s)? Did the ISP supply the router? If so, ask them for another.

Have you placed splitters at every phone point? I had this problem when I changed routers recently and forgot to place a splitter at one of the points.

yes have filters on all points and i get drop outs in wifi

My Netgear router kept droping it's connection until i updated the firmware in the update settings. Also as mr mole says try changing channels as neighbours on the same channel can knock your signal out. A great programme, which shows you which channel your neighbours are using, and are whithin range is inssider, which is free. inssider
