I've just started using Chrome for the first time.

I've worked out how to set up a 'start up' page but whenever I click the Home button it defaults to the Google page.

How do I make my start up page (bbc.co.uk) also my Home page?

Top right you'll see a box with three horizontal bars - that's your 'customise' button. Click on it, then click on 'settings' in the drop down menu. You'll see an option 'On Start-Up'. The third option down allows you to set a specific page to open when you start Chrome. The next option down - 'Appearance' allows you to show the 'home' button and to set a page as your home page.

The next big task is to get it to remember sites' passwords.

That's a 'task' I have no intention of undertaking.

I never set my browsers to remember passwords - not a clever idea.

After reading this post about how other people can expectantly see your google searches, that seems very wise!!!
