I want to upgrade my laptop from an i5 processor to an i7... I'm not sure whether its even possible. Pls help.

Laptops aren't really made for upgrading

You need to find out if the motherboard will support an i7 cpu

It does I think... it is a rPGA 988B(Socket G2). I'm from India and its difficult to find laptop processors here.. Need help on buying too.. TY!

Just because a CPU will physical fit in the socket doesn't mean its supported by the motherboard.

You need exact make and model of your machine and search the manufacturer's site for compatible CPUs.
