graphisc card upgrade trouble, help

i am trying to upgrade graphics on Dell dimension E520, upgraded processor to 2.1 duel core 2, and max'd out ram, the graphics card i want to use is avida G86 geof 8500 GT, 512 MB, when i install card comp. says i need to add monitor cable into add on graphics card for it to work...what does that mean? that i may need an adapter? please explain,completely and simply.i will be most grateful. tony

Have you removed monitor cable from IO panel graphics slot and plugged it into your new card?

Have the pc switched off before you unplug monitor cable and plug it into new graphic card.
