Issue with netbook displaying images/logos and graphics

My daughter has an HP Mini 210 with Windows 7 Starter. Having the following problems:

In browsers- IE & FF most graphics/pics wont show. For example google is just text. In windows dialogue boxes/windows lack graphics/colours In Publisher logo/pic will only display properly in print preview (no fill colour)

I have tried: Disabling McAfee firewall/anti-virus Changing screen resolution Updated graphics driver

Very frustrating! Thanks in advance for advice.

Y I guess it could be but seems strange that some images/graphics show and some don't. For example the windows 7 screen is fine. If you go to google the logo/art is missing.

I've removed McAfee and replaced as thought this might be culprit but still the same.

Progress - of sorts. Set up a new Windows user account and everything fine when signed into that. So a setting/software issue on the main account (which is the Admin)
