Uninstalling AVG free security programme

I am trying to uninstall AVG free security programme. Have gone to Control Panel and then "Uninstall program" Have clicked on AVG and uninstall. Did this, this morning but the uninstall program still seems to be running. If I try again I get a message:" Please wait until the current program is finished being uninstalled or being changed" I have W7 32 bit and have installed Avast as have been told this is a better programme.

Yup my friend also had the same problem, He was unable to uninstall the AVG antivirus, and in recent squidoo lens i read a article about AVG, here is the link http://www.squidoo.com/comodo-vs-avg-internet-security-2013-battle You can go through it!
