Software advice required. managing peoples profiles, file attachments etc.

I need help in choosing of the right software for my work. I'm looking for something that is visual, with lots of different options (creating reports, sending messages to users, attaching scanned documents to peoples profiles etc.), but i don't know whether somebody can help me. Everything i looked at is dull and looks like old's man bill register if you know what i mean.
