Windows 8 Won't start

My acer aspire E1-531 windows 8 won't start and keeps continually looping with the message "Automatically preparing to repair" the rotating circle appears then the screen goes blank for awhile then a message pops up on screen to quick to read then goes back to the repair message help

Boot from Windows 8 CD, open command prompt and type: BootRec.exe /fixmbr
No CD then donload and burn an Iso of windows 8 from here

Sometimes it could be as simple as removing anything connected to a usb port, otherwise follow Fruit Bat /\0/\ 's excellent advice.

Have you tried starting in safe mode.
Hold down the shift key while tapping F8 repeatedly.
Or if nothing else works as it starts it should give you the oppertunity of clicking on F10 as the writing appears which should take you to Back to factory settings.
Now you would loose all of your everything that you have downloaded so only use that as a last resort.
