Google Chrome - Autofill user name and password

I use Windows 7 Home (64 bit). When I first started using Google Chrome and I logged on to various sites a question would pop up at the top of the page asking me if I wanted to save this log in. I normally clicked yes.
This question has stopped appearing and only some of the web sites auto log in.
Can anyone please tell me how to get this facility back.
Thank you.

Chrome settings - advanced settings and under privacy check that enable autofill and offer to save passwords are checked.

Many thanks for responding and the information where to alter the settings. I have ticked the two boxes in question but I am still not offered the choice of saving login details.
I have only tried one web site since checking. I shall now monitor other sites I visit. Strange that although the box is ticked its not working.
