Desktop slideshow

I am trying to create a desktop slideshow from my holiday pictures. I have edited and saved them in Picasa, ensuring all pictures are right way up. However, when I create the desktop slideshow the pictures are shown in their unedited format i.e. landscape pictures have reverted to sideways - 90degrees out.

You need to rotate the picture and then save it before placing into the slide show.

I did that in Picasa but they 'unrotate' themselves when they appear on the desktop.
