Downloaded a Roxio DVD decoder for XP and got the above message. No mention of this in the product spec. Does anyone have a DVD decoder that works in XP?

If your trying to play a DVD with windows media player - its a joke!!!

you would be better off downloading a better media player like VLC it will play almost anything (installer package)

Thanks for that but only wanted the decoder to check DVD I've recorded rather than hogging the TV.

and the answer is - VLC comes with it's own full set of codecs (decoders)
