Using W/8 I got a bad e-mail yesterday which I suppose should have been deleted before it got to my inbox.

After checking it looks like some of my e-mail settings could be out.

Can anyone tell me what settings they have for Pop3,Imap and http.

Mine are as follows.

Pop3 110

Imap 143

Http 80,8080,3128

I am sure I have the settings wrong somehow.The Pop 3 settings are ok as far as I can tell Just not sure about the Imap and HTTP ones.

We would need to know what email program you are using as setting will be different.

Sorry I have 4 e-mail Accounts.

ntlworld.com

Outlook.com

2 for Windows Live.

The widows live ones and the outlook.com have all got this in common.

Ntlworld is Pop3

What has this got to do with Eset apart from the fact that it didn't trap the email?

Are you referring to port settings?

I don't recognise the http which I think is meant to be an IP address and therefore should have 4 groups.

Eset checks your incoming mail and you can set it to block senders or scan the e-mail for problems.

At the moment it is not working since I changed to W/8 maybe I changed the settings for some reason that is why I wanted to know what the main settings were.

That link was http server url for 3 of the e-mails.But unfortunately it does not give you the settings.

Example.ntlworld is smtp and pop3 settings 25 and 110 Not sure if that is 100% accurate but you don't get that with the other 3 e-mails

I am using Windows Live mail for them all.

Sorry I don't use Eset. My Kaspersky automatically scans incoming e-mails without play around with settings.

The pop 3 settings that you quote are probably the ports. In which case the ntl ones should be 465 and 995 see ntl world email settings. You can check from your account settings in Windows Live Mail.

Woolwell changed my e-mail settings in Windows live mail for your settings and I was surprised that it still worked.

It has been working for a long time using 25 and 110.

It doesn't help Eset mind you.Anyhow going to close this as I have spent enough time trying to sort it.Thanks for your help.

Well came up with a great idea,[Just shows how slow I am.]

Copy the settings from my W/7 Eset to the W/8 one and wallah just the same it still will not work properly.

W/7 is Wireless and W/8 is Ethernet connection so do not know if that would make a difference.

You can still scan Individual e-mails on W/7 using Eset but not on W/8.

Never mind I just thought that I would pass that useless bit of information on to you.
