I have installed a download called Router Password Kracker from Security Xploded that was obtained from the Majorgeeks website.
Seemed a simple to use application, but I have found this not so.
Do you know this program, if so, how do you set it up?.
The reason why I want to use this program, is due to a problem of trying to connect wireless free to a laptop, that doesn't want to accept the connection or password. I would add that I have mentioned this problem before in another posting a few months ago, which is still hasn't been resolved successfully.
If you do not know Router Password Kracker, then would you have another possible or similar download suggestion?.
Using XP Home as main but Vista on the laptop.

Not sure I understand wireless free but if you know the router's wpa key and trying to connect the Vista laptop wirelessly, check your router's wireless settings and that MAC filtering is off. Sorry if way off course :)

I also do not know what you mean by wireless free. Have you tried a factory reset of the router? This will return the log-in page of the router to default settings - most usually admin and password. You will of course have to restore all of your settings.

Thanks for the response and the two links. I had already tried the help and support at Security Xploded, but found it a little confusing, when trying to set up via dictionary. I have bookmarked the two links for further referral. The other link was very interesting, because that seemed to suggest what I was experiencing, and that was the directory requirement, which can be confusing in setting up and getting results easily?.
Regarding the wireless thing, I did try many suggestion that were in the posting I mention, but nothing seemed to work, as the password acceptance seemed to be one of the problems. Linking via cable, and I had broadband connection, hence my return to the subject and problem, by trying a few experiments.

The wireless connection to the laptop, was previously posted, and many suggestions were given, but none seemed to work. Making a direct cable link worked.
The router is connected to three computer's via direct cable, and all work perfectly, its just the wireless thing with the laptop that seems to have a problem, especially when it will not accept a password or security input (if that makes sense?).

Has someone changed the default name and password log in to the router?

If it is picking up the signal from the router but will not accept the default name and password it must have been changed.
Reset the router and add a new default name and password.
Who is your ISP and the make and model number of the router maybe handy.
You can usually change them by entering your isp address into the address bar.
Have you had your router updated for another one recently.
Virginmedia Routers have the username and passphrase on the back of them. Not sure about other ISP's

There were some changes made, when I got a local IT consultant (does work for the local schools etc) in to do some work, and at the same time connect the laptop to the internet, which he did via TalkTalk support. All seemed to work well on his departure, and a month or so after, but then there was a problem with the laptop and probably Vista (I forget what), and since then no joy in getting the laptop to connect.
The router is HUAWEI EchoLife HG520b.(standard supply via TalkTalk)
But I am considering using a Asus DSL-N11, which is suppose to be a better router with extra coverage and security?.

Just used the link, and the models I mention are not listed, but admin/admin is listed for most models, and that's the same for the two models I mention.
Would add, that when the IT man and TalkTalk were involved, a second password was used, but this doesn't seem to be acceptable, when I have tried it?.
