Windows Vista "Install Programme" has stopped working

Hi, On my Windows Vista OS some but not all Programmes when I try to install them I get the message "install Programme stopped working" and I cannot Install the programme.

Is there an easy fix or a settings I can change to get around this problem?

Are you rightclicking and choosing 'Run as Administrator' when you install them?

is there anything more in the message - like name of which program install has stopped working.

Are you installing a program d/loaded and saved to your Downloads folder or running the install straight from the internet Or is it a program on a DVD?

What antivirus and security etc programs have you got running? (they may be stopping the install)
