increasing the security level of my computer

how can I protect my computer from unauthorized changes by requiring the user name and password be entered to install programs or change system settings and increased my security level?

No password needed with Winpatrol if anything tries to change you get a pop up asking yes or no.

What Windows do you use.W/7. W8 and Vista have there own security.UAC

I also use Winpatrol Plus and would recommend same.

Create different user accounts. Users without admin rights should not be able to change system settings, etc.
