Netbooks Think 60Gb Memory Stick Needs Formatting

I was given this large capacity stick for Christmas, and have installed a number of programmes on it. It works fine on my W7 and W8 PCs, but when I plug it into a couple of netbooks with XP, it's seen in My Computer, but when trying to access it asks if I wish to format it. Any pointers please?

Make model? may need XP drivers
Remove all USB devices
Download and run USB device View
Uninstall ALL devices that are shown as not connected.
Reboot the machine.
Plug in your USB device and windows should then find new hardware and reinstall the drivers for the device.

Thanks FB - tried that - it finds the device and loads the drivers. On opening the device, doesn't see the data, just says it needs formatting. Other sticks work OK, so was wondering if it's because of the high capacity?

With an SD card yes but a mem stick I thought should be OK - no didderent from plugging in an external drive 2Tb is the limit for XP
try remove the data on to your other machines
then format the stick on the XP machine put data on
and see if it shows in w7/8
put data on in w/7/8 and see if extra data now shows on XP.
