BT are currently upgrading the local exchanges to infinity. I do know that you have to be with BT,and have BT install fibre optic cable to your property to to it.
But my question is this.
As i am with AOL, would i see a few meg increase in my line speed due to the fact that they are upgrading the exchange near us. I'm currently getting around 3 meg. Or could AOL boost my speed if they so wished because of this?

It depends what you are on now and what AOL equipment is upgraded.
By the way, BT infinity is fibre to the cabinet in the street and then from there it's the existing copper wire to your house. They do come in and change your Master socket and a new Router but it's still the existing copper wire from your house to the cabinet.

Oh, sorry that should be "change your Master socket and put in a modem that you plug a router into"
