Deleting Emails (Maintenance) In Thunderbird

Hi

My Email client is Thunderbird

I want to do email maintence meaning deleting past emails from in box and sent folder.

Is there a tool that can do this?

Can you not just highlight the messages you want to remove and press "Delete" on your keyboard? If this moves them to a Deleted Messages folder, use Shift+Delete to delete them directly.

I could but is there a utility or software that help me do this????
