Web Design / Development on an ultrabook?

Hi,

I'm starting to do some basic web development - nothing hardcore yet. I'm looking at buying a 13" Ultrabook with 4GB Ram, 256 SSD and Core i7 - so, quite a powerful machine. But, I wonder about practicalities for running, for example, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and other app's simultaneoulsy?

I do plan to get a larger screen to hook up to for when I am home based.

Thanks

Should have no problem. I have a 3 year old dual core machine and I can run NetObjects Fusion 12 (Web Design) plus Photoshop and perhaps Word, Notepad and filezilla simultaneously. Must admit the photoshop is the largest resource hog and it can be slow sometimes but you shouldn't have a problem unless you're video editing at the same time!

The irritation -if it arises - will come from the screen size, rather than from the components inside.

I do a lot of web development, and that invariably involves Photoshop. A larger screen makes the work less stressful - for me, at any rate.

With those specs, I don't see any problems coming your way. Given that no viruses and such will enter your unit.
