windows xp update KB 2799329

hi all has anybody had a problem with the lastest windows update KB 2799329 nearly every time i switch on and it boots up it get stuck on the first part with the channels showing, i have to press the reset button about 4 times to get it to go to windows and boot up. i went to system restore to see if this would solve the problem, but it wont let me restore it. can it be took of or would it cause a problem removing it. thanks.

That is a IE 8 Security Update, not yet loaded it on my PC's

Have a read at this and maybe try the Fix for it.

Security programs were stopping some updates from running.

Maybe remove the update.Turn all your security programs off then try and reinstall it.

If not just remove it and turn automatic updates off as it will try and update after each reboot.
