Thanks, fruit Bat, but the question is, not all manufacturers enable their phones even though the technology is built in. My question is, can the user do what the manufacturer didn't?

I have a Galaxy Y and a HUAWEI Ascend 300 Both of which have the MHL capability but neither of which actually do!

Very interesting reading, I had heard that MHL/HDMI connectors, unless Samsung Branded, would not work (Samsung branded are about 5 times more expensive) this seems to confirm it. Shades of Apple and their proprietary connections! are Samsung learning via litigation! lol.
