On my old and new laptop I have a problem that after being on them for a while the screen changes to blue and an error appears. Your first link to the article on BSOD's is ClickHere your second link doesn't work.

Can you post more details please, as link is for Vista I presume that is what you have on Both laptops. If not then please say what they are.

Which programs do you have open when you get a BSOD?

It may be that you are blocking the fan vents while using the laptop which causes overheating and the crash. A laptop should be placed on a hard surface with nothing blocking the side vents. Do not use on a soft fabric surface, like a bed or your knees unless you have a hard tray under it.

One reason why I did a clean install from Vista to W7 was the fact that Vista just BSOD'd at the most inconvenient times - constantly - and the laptop was on a hard surface, in fact it was on a laptop cooler!.
