Canon CanoScan Lide210 fails to see image

My 2 year old scanner suddenly ceased to see the document for scanning. There is no light when it passes across the document. It produces an A4 black image. Could it be the lamp has failed and if so is it possible to replace it?

Yes! Thank you. It now only scans at 400dpi but that will do. No idea why this should suddenly come about after 2 years of problem free scanning.

It will not scan at all now, just provides a black image. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.
