Good backup software?

Hi I have got this from ebay. It has Windows XP preinstalled and all the drivers preinstalled. I would like to install Linux but just in case if I want to go back to Windows XP I would like to back up everything. I have tried free trial of True Image Acronis but the problem is that I don't have any XP disc to install then use Acronis to restore everything. Is there any good back up software that I can back up everything and then boot to live cd and restore everything if possible?

Thanks

you do not need windows

Make a disk image on to an external device and the rescue media (CD)

Boot from the rescue cd point it to the image and it will restore the disk to this state.

easeus is a good fre version that should do the same thing
